General overhauled 1.8 TFSI or 2.0 TFSI engine

Does your vehicle with the 1.8 TFSI or 2.0 TFSI engine from the 1st or 2nd generation* suffer from high oil consumption, has a damaged timing chain or loss of performance? Then we can help you: You will receive a completely overhauled engine including seals and installation in our master car workshop.

*Engine codes: CDA, CDN, CDH, CAE, CAW, CCZ, CEA, CES

With us you get a completely overhauled engine as well as the installation in our master car workshop. We overhaul the replacement engines exclusively in-house.

We carry out the following work on the engine:

In principle, we completely disassemble the 1.8 TFSI or 2.0 TFSI engines, clean them and check all components for wear. We then replace all worn or damaged components without exception. The crank mechanism is then measured and the bearing shells renewed. In addition, the liners are honed or drilled to oversize depending on the damage pattern. The exchange engine also receives the modified pistons with wider oil scraper rings.

In addition, we check the cylinder head for warpage and plan it if necessary. We also check the valve guides. We machine the valves and valve seats accordingly or replace them with new ones and additionally grind them in. We also install new valve stem seals. The chain drive is renewed and the reinforced timing chain is installed with a modified tensioner.

On request, we will also be happy to install a new cylinder head for an additional charge.

Checking the injectors

With the 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI engines, we definitely recommend that you also have the injectors checked. Please note that we can only check and ultrasonically clean the injectors so that the spray pattern fits again. Unfortunately, we have no influence on whether the mechanics show a defect after a while.

Extra costs

In addition, when installing the engine, there are costs for oil, oil filter and small parts as well as any additional work (e.g. damaged threads, engine bearings, additional work on axle parts, replacement of defective add-on parts, etc.). In a large number of vehicles, we also have to drain the climate gas in order to be able to carry out the engine replacement. We then fill it up completely again. This can continue to result in costs for the shortage of gas.

For reasons of liability, we do not install any spare parts you have brought with you in our workshop.

We offer you the collection of your vehicle throughout Germany at favorable conditions.

1.8 TFSI or 2.0 TFSI engine 3. Generation

The camshafts for the 1.8 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI Generation 3 engines were modified by VW Audi. These run in or seize in the front area, in which the camshaft adjustment is controlled. If the camshafts have not yet been replaced, they will be added as a surcharge of €1,500 incl. VAT. The camshafts are currently only available as OE parts and are not yet commercially available. These are the engine codes CHH, CJE, CJS, CJX, CNC, DCB.

Note on the old engine:

Your 1.8 TFSI or 2.0 TFSI engine must be able to be overhauled: That means the cylinder head and engine block must not show any irreparable damage such as cracks or fractures. Furthermore, the valves must not be torn off. Your engine must also not be made up of defective parts. If your engine cannot be overhauled, we will charge a surcharge for the additional work of up to a maximum of €800 including VAT. Please read our note on the overhaulability of engines.

We also offer the 1.8 TFSI or 2.0 TFSI engine for sale to garages. If you are interested, please contact us.
