We only overhaul replacement engines in-house.
The following work is carried out on the engine:
We completely disassemble the 1.4 | 1.6 engines, clean them, and inspect all components for wear. All worn or damaged parts are replaced without exception. The crankshaft is then measured and the bearing shells are renewed. In addition, the cylinder liners are honed or bored, depending on the damage. The replacement engine also receives new pistons.
Furthermore, we check the cylinder head for warping and plan it if necessary. We also inspect the valve guides. The valves and valve seats are processed accordingly or replaced with new ones and additionally honed. We also install new valve stem seals.
Additional costs
Additional costs arise for the installation of the engine for oil, oil filter, and small parts as well as any additional work (e.g. damaged threads, engine mounting, additional work on axle parts, replacement of defective attachments, etc.). In many vehicles, we also have to drain the refrigerant to perform the engine replacement. We refill this completely at the end. Additional costs may also arise for the excess refrigerant.
For liability reasons, we do not install customer-supplied car replacement parts in our car workshop.

Note on the old engine:
Your 1.4 | 1.6 engine must be overhauled: This means that the cylinder head and engine block must not have irreparable damage such as cracks or fractures. The valves must also not be broken. Your engine must also not be assembled from defective parts. If your engine is not overhaulable, we will charge an additional fee for the extra effort. Please note our information on overhaulability.
